Tomorrow, Rossignol will be entering into yet another new stage in its brand development, evolving from a snowsport-specific brand, to a Mountain Lifestyle Brand. Rossignol’s new phase includes product design and development for all year-round mountain sports and culture, and the lifestyle that goes along with this. A new Rossignol, with more lifestyle focus than ever before, strongly supports Rossignol’s branding as a Pure Mountain Company. This is a strong and universal message, which expresses a clear ambition: to become the brand for everyone who shares Rossignol’s passion for the mountain lifestyle. In short, we aim to be known as the most progressive and authentic mountain brand on the market.
2008 Rossignol Snowboard Styles While each board on Rossignol’s line can rip almost any terrain on the mountain, they truly excel in the conditions for which they are specifically designed. To help you choose which model fit your needs, Rossignol sorted their boards into 4 styles whose sidecuts, shapes and flex patterns were designed for a specific use.
Twin Freestyle (Twin FS) Sidecut is deep (i.e. short) and progressive for super fast transitions and edge rip, shape is twin with centered inserts for balance, nose and tail of the snowboard are stiff for pop, waist is soft for control on rails and stability at high speed.
All Mountain Freestyle (FS) Sidecut is still deep progressive for edge grip but slightly offset towards the tail for more stability at high speed, shape is directional with a 1 to 2 cm insert set back for versatility, tail is stiff for pop, waist and nose are softer for smoothness.
All Mountain Sidecut is progressive for edge grip and longer than on the FS series for a lot of punch outside of a turn, shape is directional with a 2cm insert set back for versatility, flex pattern is even from the back to the front inserts for balance.
Freeride (FR) Sidecut radius is single for consistency, shape is very directional with a 2cms insert set back for floatation, nose is stiff for floatation and control, tail is slightly softer for smoothness.
